Don't be sad, there's a lot of really great potential for this character, especially now that you've stepped away from making him a copy of RD.
Liking RD isn't a bad thing, but people aren't going to be able to look past direct vector traces to see the real character behind it if there's nothing unique to be had visually. I honestly want to help, because I used to be in your shoes when it came to character creation. I've grown up over the years and realized that emulation is good, but straight-up copying will just make people lack respect.
Tell you what, you can go back to your old design temporarily on the condition that I give Lightning Rocker a badass redesign absolutely for free as a Holiday Gift (you'll recieve it sometime next month) If you don't like my redesign, and honestly prefer Rainbow Dash vector traces, I'll give up and let you do what you want. I'm only doing this because I want Lightning Rocker to be considered an awesome standalone character, and not just another Rainbow Dash recolor for the long list of RD copies.
